Most Powerful Sony PS3 Supercomputer in the world

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) has connected 1,760 PlayStation 3 systems together to create the World’s Most Powerful PS3 Supercomputer.World’s Most Powerful PS3 Supercomputer

The Condor Cluster, as it’s been named, is capable of 500 TFLOPS per second, and includes 1,760 PS3s, 168 separate graphical processing units, and 84 coordinating servers.

According to the Air Force, at $2 million, the system costs only five to ten percent as much as a comparable system made from separate components, in addition to consuming one-tenth the energy.
